There's absolutely a time and place to break these "rules". I just remember when I was making this theme how frustrating I was finding it when I was pushing things around using margins, not realising there were better tools for the job.

As for clear:left and :right - I haven't found as much use for them in my designs except for a few minor spots (I'm not sure I have ANY in this particular theme though).

Totally agree with the use of 'clear:both', I'm also guilty of over using it. Have found clear left or right are just as useful.

Actually, MediaPortal was exactly what I was going to use, as it will allow me to use my iTunes music, give me access to email, RSS, and a webcam (?). It sounds very good indeed. If I go the "homebrew" option, it's definitely my first choice.

As much as I hate to say it I reckon superman would beat any jedi in a fight. Being a jedi is cool and all but you have to have time to react. Superman would just hit you superfast and then the jedi would be dazed and not be able to use the force or his lightsaber... While he may win this battle Superman still looks like a dork with his undies on the outside and jedis always looks cooler with their villager-hessian cloak look.

I'm not sure what you mean Posty. An amp would be more cost wouldn't it? Then I'd still need to decide the best thing to plug into it, and a lot of my "desirable" features would still be MIA

Don't blame IntenseDebate - I've been hopping back and forth, which probably hasn't helped people who subscribe to my comments (read: you).

If you read further down my comments (I think they're out of order now) I reckon Vuzit has the edge using AJAX as you've stated. Your comments about footprint are interesting, and something I hadn't considered. I'll be watching with interest to see where else Vuzit goes.

I think iPaper is an impressive product, and it's great to see a number of companies focused on similar areas in the marketplace. On the technology side, I think AJAX gives our publishers a great amount of flexibility that Flash simply cannot provide ... and the footprint is much smaller (loads faster in mostly all cases). As for the business, I would prefer not to make any announcements here but we will be releasing some new products that will make the positioning clearer. Stay tuned.

You mentioned a full-screen viewer. There is an example of that here:

You can also add a full-screen link to your viewer's toolbar, and host it on your own site. This is discussed here:
